Fabio Mancini

Model, Philanthropist, Author

My guest on this episode of Three Food Memories is a wokful of wickedness, sass and pure joy!

The name Fabio comes from the Latin word faba, which means "bean". A name common in ancient Rome because of the importance of this legume in Roman cuisine and agriculture.

In Italian culture, the name is considered elegant and sophisticated, and is associated with masculinity and charm.

My guest on this episode of Three Food Memories is true to the origins of his name sake and the epitome of cultura italiana: elegante e sofisticata, muskil-ee e affashcinante.

Fabio Mancini was born in Germany to an Italian father and an Indian mother. On his way to work, barely getting by as a shop assistant, he was stopped and abruptly asked. "Have you ever thought about being a model?" From that moment, Fabio's life changed.

The years that followed were a fueled by high octane International modelling successes, wrong encounters, instant attractions, disappointments, and comebacks. Far removed from what was now, a broken family. At the height of his success, the feeling of loneliness became unbearable, and the pull of his past grew overwhelming.

This marked the nexy journey for Fabio, back to his maternal roots in India. Through his discovery of Buddhism He realized that certain traumas are passed down from generation to generation. He learned that this very awareness can become the medicine to heal those wounds.

Fabio joins me from Pulia in Italia to share his three food memories as we discover that his beauty is more than skin deep.
